Crouse Health has been a leading healthcare provider in Central New York since 1887. The 40‑bed General Medicine/Surgery Department is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide services that include vascular, urology, thoracic, colorectal, and chemical dependency treatment.
Pay Range: $39.00–$50.00 per hour.
Sign‑on Bonuses: $10,000 for experienced RNs; $5,000 for newly graduated RNs.
Available Schedule(s): 7:00 pm‑7:30 am, 7:00 am‑7:30 pm Monday‑Friday rotating weekends & holidays.
Registered Nurse (RN) Position Responsibilities- Provides professional judgment and knowledge of roles as it pertains to the Crouse Hospital Professional Nursing Practice Model.
- Carries out duties and responsibilities per legal requirements under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, with emphasis on leading a culture of safe care.
- Responsible for all activities requiring assessment, planning, diagnosing, evaluating, judgement, problem‑solving, creating and implementing the plan of care.
- Provides appropriate education to patients and families to promote health, facilitate rehabilitation and maintain wellness; evaluates effectiveness and revises as appropriate.
- Monitors and evaluates patient responses to treatment/plan of care during hospital stay.
- Utilizes and engages in evidence‑based practice to deliver quality patient care.
- Demonstrates characteristics and skills that promote critical thinking in clinical problem‑solving situations.
Position Requirements
- Must have a current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing degree program;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. - For RNs licensed in or after 2017, completion of a Bachelor’s degree within 8 years of license acquisition required.
- If hired as a Graduate Nurse, a NYS limited licensure work permit must be obtained within 90 days of graduation and the GN must successfully pass the NCLEX exam within 120 days of the beginning of employment.
- Certification in a specialty area preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
