About This Role
The Addiction RN Fellow position is a temporary, 6-month training program focused on addiction medicine. It is ideal for registered nurses looking to enhance their skills in treating substance use disorders and related psychiatric conditions.

Full-time, Monday - Friday daytime hours
- Carry out duties per legal requirements under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice.
- Administer prescribed medications in accordance with organizational policies.
- Provide education to patients and families to promote health and wellness.
- Evaluate effectiveness of care and revise plans appropriately.
- Serve as an advocate for patients and families while applying ethical principles.
- Consult patient data to identify trends and enhance the plan of care.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to adjust the plan of care.
- Utilize evidence-based practice to deliver quality patient care.
- Train in the fundamentals of addiction medicine, including treatment for Substance Use Disorders.
- Education: NYS licensed/registered RN required.
- Experience: Prior experience in an outpatient setting strongly preferred.
- Licenses &
Certifications:
Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross required.
