Job Summary
The onsite professional will provide first aid and medical care to clinic employees as requested or needed, and within the RN scope of practice, following treatment care guidelines set forth by the occupational health director and client policy and procedures.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm.
- Provide on‑site treatment and management of injuries and minimize the need for off‑site medical treatment.
- Give on‑site care, first aid and follow‑up to occupationally injured or ill workers.
- Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate care.
- Manage open worker compensation and short‑term disability cases as needed.
- Maintain a medical record database and provide reports to management as applicable.
- Maintain OSHA records as applicable.
- Perform medical testing including, but not limited to, TB tests, blood draws, immunizations, drug screening, vision tests, hearing tests, respirator fit tests and medical evaluations.
- Perform First Aid, CPR, AED and other training as necessary.
- Maintain clinic supplies for treatment and preventive measures in the workplace.
- Provide preventive health education as needed.
- Provide First‑Aid CPR instruction.
- Provide various monthly wellness education sessions to employees.
- Perform additional duties and assume additional responsibilities as identified by manager for the efficient operation of Work Care.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid RN license in the state of New York.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing is highly preferred.
- Current BLS certification.
- 3–5 years of experience required.
- 2–3 years of experience in an urgent care, emergency department or occupational health setting preferred.
- Certification in Occupational Health preferred.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality.
- Strong critical thinking, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
- Manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Create and edit written materials.
- Communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Organize resources and establish priorities.
- Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues, supervisors and clients.
- Strong time management, organization and follow‑through skills.
- Meet and exceed daily and weekly performance goals.
- Work independently and assist other team members when needed.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Strong clinical skills.
- Client‑facing and teamwork skills.
- Competent in Windows operating system environment and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and willing to learn other software as needed.
- Requires sitting for long periods at a desk.
- Some bending and stretching may be required.
- Work under stress and use of computer/phone required.
- Manual dexterity required for use of computer keyboard.
- Occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch may be required.
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds and climb stairs.
- Mainly indoor office environment.
- Noise level usually moderate.
- Air quality good and temperature controlled.
This position has an hourly pay range of $50‑$55 per hour. Final compensation for this position depends on factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
