Location: City of Syracuse
Nursing Assistant
The Nursing Assistant (NA) supports licensed nursing staff in delivering comprehensive patient care across preventive, acute, sub‑acute, chronic, maintenance, and hospice services. The role requires knowledge of VA policies and procedures and compliance with all Cyber and Informational Security Policies and Procedures.
- Assist nursing staff with specimen collection, blood draws, and lab requests.
- Ensure safe, secure and compliant transport of patients and specimens.
- Monitor and educate peers regarding wheelchair availability and safe use of equipment.
- Maintain sterile techniques, infection control, and compliance with federal, state and Joint Commission requirements.
- Verify knowledge of HIPAA and privacy rules when handling PII.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
