Description
PACU hours 6am-11:30pm with on‑call requirement. One weekend every 4th weekend.
eph’s Health, the Surgical Services Department records more than 11,000 surgeries annually in state‑of‑the‑art operating rooms, providing a full range of surgical services for ambulatory, elective, and critically ill patients. The PACU is responsible for providing high‑quality nursing care before and after surgical procedures, ensuring safe transitions between pre‑operative and post‑anesthesia care phases.

What You Will Do- Assess and prepare patients for surgery, including reviewing medical history and administering pre‑operative medications. Monitor patients in the Pre‑Op area, ensuring they are stable and ready for surgery.
- Provide immediate post‑anesthesia care, monitoring vital signs and assessing for complications.
- Educate patients and families on post‑operative care, discharge instructions, and recovery expectations.
- Demonstrate strong assessment, critical‑thinking, and patient‑advocacy skills along with the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and respond quickly to changing patient conditions.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited college or university nursing program. BSN graduate preferred. - Licensure:
Current RN license in New York. - Certification: BLS/CPR. CNOR or CPAN certification is a plus.
- Experience:
Minimum of 1‑2 years in Pre‑Op, PACU, or Surgical/Perioperative Nursing.
Full time – 40 Hour Day/Evening Rotating Shift
Pay Range$38.75 – $54.85 per hour (based on experience, skills, and education)
