Job OverviewPomeroy College of Nursing at Crouse Hospital is hiring a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) for a medical/surgical nursing faculty position. The 10‑month appointment involves teaching in classroom, lab, and clinical settings, providing student support, feedback, and participating in College committees.
Pay Range: $45,000.00 – $53,000.00 per annum
Schedule: Part‑time, 24 hours/week including day and evening hours.
Faculty Position Responsibilities- Scholarship of teaching
- Demonstrates evidence‑based teaching practices.
- Uses foundational teaching strategies appropriate to learner needs, desired learner outcomes, content, and context.
- Uses information technologies to support the teaching‑learning process.
- Shows enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and one’s own discipline.
- Uses personal attributes (e.g., caring, confidence, patience, integrity, and flexibility) that facilitate learning.
- Serves as a professional role model.
- Identifies individual learning styles and unique learning needs of multicultural adult and at‑risk learners.
- Implements appropriate learning activities and evaluation strategies.
- Functions within the institutional philosophy and mission, and current discipline trends.
- Proactively identifies areas of concern with student performance and competently assists students through remediation.
- Scholarship of Practice
- Demonstrates evidence of effective course implementation.
- Service
- Integrates respect, collegiality, professionalism, and caring to build an organizational climate that fosters student and teacher development.
- Determines own professional goals within the context of academic nursing and the mission of the parent institution and nursing program.
- Participates in professional organizations, continued education, course meetings, and college committees.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing degree program.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
- Master’s degree in Nursing preferred, or must be enrolled in a Master’s degree nursing program with degree completion plan in place upon hire.
- Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) at the time of hire or within four (4) weeks after hire.
- Minimum of three (3) years of full‑time or equivalent clinical nursing experience in the assigned area of responsibility.
