The Nurse Manager is responsible for leading and managing clinical nursing areas to ensure comprehensive quality nursing care. This role is ideal for individuals with strong leadership skills and a commitment to upholding nursing standards.

• Assume primary leadership and management of defined clinical nursing areas.
• Facilitate and deliver comprehensive quality nursing care.
• Manage the environment in which care is given.
• Ensure adherence to hospital or department and university policies.
• Oversee nursing policies, procedures, standards, and practices.
• Exemplify the Upstate mission, vision, and values.
• Act in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.
• Plan goals and customer service/marketing strategies.
• Manage administrative functions and budget/cost containment.
• Communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master's degree in Nursing required.

Experience:

• 3+ years post-licensure acute care RN experience required.
• Leadership experience preferred.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• NYS Licensed/Registered (or eligible) RN required.
• CPR-BLS certification required by the time of appointment.
• Nursing Leadership certification preferred within three years of appointment.
