This position is available with Central New York Infusion Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Bio Matrix Specialty Pharmacy, LLC. Bio Matrix is a nationwide, independently‑owned infusion pharmacy with decades of experience supporting patients on specialty medication. Schedule

Varied hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time. Occasional evening hours may be required.

Location & Travel

This role is based in DeWitt, NY. An incumbent may need to travel within a two‑hour radius of the metro‑area to provide patient care as needed. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

Job Description

Performs specified patient care activities and related services necessary for quality care of home nutritional support and intravenous therapy patients.

Qualification Requirements
  • Graduate of an N.L.N. accredited school of nursing.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state where you are currently practicing.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in IV therapy with a strong background in nutritional support and/or immunoglobulin therapy.
  • In lieu of the above experience, two (2) years of recent acute‑care experience or apprenticeship for a period of 3 months for all home visits with an experienced R.N. may be accepted.
  • Must possess or acquire a current CPR certificate within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Must possess good technical skills and strong knowledge of clinical nutrition and IV therapy, and must function independently within a team framework.
  • Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be dependable in attendance and job performance.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in the state of employment.
Qualifications Preferred
  • Experience in home infusion nursing.
  • Participation and membership in professional societies.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Maintain standards and policies set by Bio Matrix Specialty Infusion Pharmacy.
  • Perform initial patient evaluation in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Assist referring physicians and institutions in planning and implementing patient care to ensure smooth transition from hospital to home.
  • Educate patients and significant others about home infusion therapy and its impact.
  • Conduct patient training in self‑management of infusion therapies, including provision of teaching materials.
  • Perform patient visits in the home or clinic, including:
    • Physical assessment
    • Nutritional assessment
    • Therapeutic monitoring for mechanical, infectious, or metabolic complications.
    • Peripheral IV starts/re‑starts
    • Obtaining labs via peripheral venipuncture or central venous access.
    • Assessing patient ability to perform procedures and instruction of specific procedures.
