Job Summary
The Syracuse Quality Manager is responsible for evaluating the quality process and assisting with quality system development and the continuous support of quality product improvements. This is an on‑site position and reports to the Sr. Director of Global Quality.
You will make a difference in the following ways- Provide quality engineering leadership for Fiber Extrusion operations, including management of daily quality rejections, trouble‑shooting major fallout, nonconforming material (NMR)/MRB disposition, and CAPA activities related to internal and external quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO 9001, TL 9000, UL, customer‑specific requirements, and internal quality management systems.
- Lead and continuously improve quality standards, systems, and KPIs across operational processes to ensure the consistent production and delivery of high‑quality products.
- Lead customer complaint investigations, containment activities, root cause analysis, and RCCM development utilizing cross‑functional problem‑solving methodologies such as 8D CAR to drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on scrap reduction, process optimization, operational efficiency, SPC system effectiveness, and overall product quality enhancement through data analysis and proactive monitoring.
- Conduct PFMEAs for new and existing products, equipment, and manufacturing processes to support successful product and process launches, while independently leading small‑scale quality and process improvement projects.
- Manage, train, and oversee Quality Auditors, Quality Engineers, and Technicians; monitor performance, support daily manufacturing operations, develop in‑process inspection criteria and work instructions, identify gauging requirements, and perform other assigned duties.
- Bachelor’s in Engineering;
Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred. - Minimum of 2 years experience in a fast‑paced, high volume manufacturing environment, including supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing process quality control, troubleshooting, CAPA systems, and gauging methodologies.
- Solid understanding of statistical process control (SPC), process capability analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with employees at all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while maintaining high quality standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and statistical analysis software.
- Ability to maintain accurate records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively within a team‑oriented and culturally diverse workplace.
