The Computer Architecture Laboratory at Syracuse University (SU), Syracuse, NY, is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on different theoretical, experimental, and computational projects in the general areas of classical and quantum computer architectures. Successful candidates will join Prof. Alex Jones’ research group in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. This postdoctoral position is available as early as Fall 2024.
QualificationsDoctoral degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field. Exceptional candidates from other fields with relevant experience are also welcome to apply.
Job Specific Qualifications- Research experience in one of the following areas: (i) computer architecture (ii) classical and novel memory systems (iii) non‑Von Neumann computing (iv) compilers (v) quantum computing or a related area.
- Strong programming skills, experience with simulation and modeling, computational algorithms, are desirable.
- Highly motivated to work with an interdisciplinary team of students (Graduate and Undergraduate) as well as internal (SU) and external academic and industry collaborators.
The Postdoctoral Researcher will carry out basic and applied research to support sponsored projects and prepare research papers for publication. In addition to the primary research duties, the postdoc will also (1) mentor graduate and undergraduate students working on different projects; (2) collaborate and participate in submitting research proposals to funding agencies; and (3) work with researchers from multiple disciplines across campus as well as internal (SU) and external academic and industry collaborators.
