A Postdoctoral Researcher position is immediately available in the Dave Moz Lab (Chemistry Department and Bio Inspired Institute at Syracuse University), to develop nature-inspired strategies for controlling the structure and mechanics of biopolymer condensates.
This NIH-funded project aims to use post-translational modifications to alter the interfacial and rheological properties of all aqueous emulsions derived from the liquid-liquid phase separation of proteins.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in the experimental characterization of soft condensed matter as demonstrated by publications in the field.
This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200
United.
Qualifications
* A doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Polymer Materials Science, Polymer Engineering, or closely related field is required.
* Prior publication record in the characterization of structure and dynamics of soft condensed matter using rheological, scattering, and other techniques.
Job Specific Qualifications
Familiarity with the production, isolation, and characterization of peptides/proteins is desired but not required.
