Job Description
The Syracuse University Experimental Gravitational‑Wave group is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to conduct research on technology for current and future gravitational‑wave detectors. The successful candidate will work on designing, building, and testing quantum noise reduction schemes for future gravitational wave detectors.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will conduct research on technology for current and future gravitational‑wave detectors, designing, building, and testing quantum noise reduction schemes, and advising graduate students in the group.
QualificationsCandidate must hold a Ph.D. in physics, engineering, or a related field. Desired experience includes:
- Optics
- Electronics
- Quantum optics
- Interferometer control and simulation
The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility for renewal.
