Overview
Lead the athlete experience by coaching teammates and driving engagement in loyalty programs and services. Deliver fast, friendly, and accurate checkout experiences while building strong athlete relationships that drive retention.
Responsibilities- Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by anticipating needs and providing clear, accurate product information.
- Uphold merchandising and presentation standards by following floor sets, signage requirements, price changes, and inventory presentation.
- Promote and lead company programs such as customer loyalty participation, warranty sales, and private label credit card enrollment.
- Contribute to 30‑60‑90 day plans with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to support business priorities.
- Help establish working plans for operational initiatives, staffing, hiring, and merchandising within budgets and financial goals.
- Execute plans and adjust as needed, using independent judgment and analysis of plan effectiveness.
- Act as Head Coach when sole leader, overseeing opening and closing procedures, front‑end and cash office functions, and teammate supervision.
- Communicate departmental goals and plans to direct reports daily/weekly and assign workload based on skill levels to maximize efficiencies.
- Monitor progress against plans and store goals, pivoting as needed to maintain uninterrupted operations and meet payroll and financial objectives.
- Develop effective schedules for direct reports and adjust them to meet athlete traffic demands while completing operational and merchandising initiatives.
- Build and lead a strong, effective team that delivers positive athlete experiences.
- Lead sourcing, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention of direct reports in oversight areas.
- Ensure teammates are properly trained and provide coaching, feedback, development, recognition, and motivation throughout the teammate lifecycle.
- Manage performance, including annual reviews, promotional recommendations, and hold teammates accountable for compliance with policies and procedures, including termination recommendations.
- Create a store environment where teammates and athletes are always welcome and treated with respect.
- Enforce safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures, as well as external laws and guidelines.
- Hold teammates who fail to meet expectations accountable.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 1‑3 years of experience.
- Previous retail/customer-facing experience required.
- Previous people leadership experience preferred.
$51,500.00 – $65,500.00.
