We are looking for a Business Development Specialist to join our team at Bluefors in Syracuse, NY. In this role, you will help drive growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding into emerging and underserved markets, and supporting marketing initiatives that generate qualified leads.
Your tasks will include developing and maintaining a pipeline of new business opportunities within emerging and underserved markets for our existing products, identifying unmet market needs and collaborating with technical teams to recommend new products and go‑to‑market strategies, analyzing marketing and sales data, recommending pricing strategies and margin targets, and educating customers and internal stakeholders on product features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
In addition, you will research and build partnerships with prospective customers, assist in coordinating marketing campaigns across print, digital, and social media, support trade show planning and execution, optimize our CRM system, maintain accurate sales forecasts, and perform additional duties as assigned.
We are looking for a candidate with a degree or certificate in business management, marketing, or a related field such as manufacturing, quality, technology, or process engineering, along with at least five years of business development experience in a growing manufacturing company. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking, negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities, along with sound business acumen and relationship‑building skills. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and database software, and experience working with ERP systems is strongly preferred. A flexible, creative mindset and a proactive, “can‑do” attitude are essential for success in this role.

Annual salary range: $80,000 – $115,000 annually (DOE plus bonus)
