Community Liaison – Albany & Syracuse, NY Region

ERM is hiring a Community Liaison regionally in the Albany or Syracuse, NY areas. The role engages directly with clients, consultants, and community members on a regular basis to facilitate engagement and meetings with local community members. This is a part‑time (16+ hours a week) limited‑term position with a duration of 12 months, potentially extendable.

• Serve as a point of contact for the public.
• Attend and facilitate local in‑person site visits and customer meetings (including door‑to‑door by appointment).
• Conduct customer outreach via phone, email, and in‑person visits.
• Respond to customer inquiries.
• Support strategy and outreach implementation.
• Support implementation of communication plan and customer and community engagement strategy.
• Attend internal and client project team meetings as needed.
• Prepare timely reports documenting all outreach activities and related customer feedback.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience and demonstrated knowledge of community relations or local community involvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, public affairs, or a related field preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, note‑taking, and public speaking skills.
• Ability to work autonomously to manage competing priorities, synthesize ideas, plan strategically, and implement actions.
• Willingness to travel regionally throughout middle and upstate New York up to 95%; some overnight stays, night, and weekend work may be required.

• Experience with an electric or gas utility company or regulator preferred.

Annual base pay is anticipated to be $74,828‑$94,301 ($35.97/hr – $45.33/hr USD). Pay within this range is based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business needs. This job may be eligible for bonus pay. Casual and fixed‑term/Flexforce employees are not bonus eligible.
