Outside Sales Specialist - Upstate

GP Jager, a UFT company represents over eighty manufacturers of water and wastewater treatment in New York and New Jersey.

With an expanded product line, territory and sales force, our product offering includes virtually every biological process, filtration, clarification, disinfection, chemical feed, and mechanical equipment available today.

We're looking for an Outside Sales Specialist to own the municipal market across Upstate NY, building relationships with municipalities, consulting engineers, and general contractors while helping bring critical infrastructure solutions to life.

You’ll join a team of genuine experts in the water and wastewater space, work with best-in-class manufacturers, and help build the leading water/wastewater platform company in the U.S. with uncapped earning potential and real autonomy in how you run your territory.

• Grow and deepen relationships with engineers, end users, and contractors while actively developing new business and long-term partnerships
• Serve as a trusted technical resource: recommend the right products, provide hands-on support, and follow through to make sure every project succeeds
• Drive your own schedule: plan customer meetings, run product presentations, and represent us at promotional events
• Stay sharp through ongoing product training, industry associations, conferences, and trade shows
• Travel occasionally to manufacturer and partner locations for training and development and attend wastewater trade shows and events

• 4+ years within sales, business development, or account management is required
• A bachelor's degree is preferred
• Industry sales experience within industrial equipment, process equipment, environmental services, chemical and industrial processing, HVAC, or mechanical systems is preferred
• Previous water / wastewater sales experience is highly preferred
• Ability to present technical solutions to engineers, municipal staff, and plant personnel
• A relationship‑first mindset: you follow through, you show up, and people trust you
• Sharp consultative selling, negotiation, and problem‑solving instincts
• Self‑starter energy: you manage your own territory, priorities, and calendar without someone looking over your shoulder
• Comfortable in the field: in‑person meetings, plant walkthroughs, and live product demos are part of the job
• Microsoft Office and CRM experience is required
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel within Upstate NY

Base Range is $120,000-$150,000 + uncapped commission

Pay posted is the base range for the role. This position offers a base plus an uncapped commission structure. Base pay will depend on education, experience, skills, and location. The posted range reflects our current expectations but may change.
