Security Officer - Evening Shift

Shift: Evening Shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM). The schedule includes working a weekend and holiday rotation.

Position Title: Security Officer

Compensation: Pay Range: $20.20 - $28.00 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary by location. $1,500 Full Time New Hire Sign-on Bonus.

Enforces security related policies and procedures to provide a safe and secure environment for all employees, visitors, patients and physical properties. Performs other duties as assigned to assist in achieving overall division and hospital goals.

• Enforce security policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property.
• Respond to incidents, monitor surveillance, and coordinate with security and clinical staff as needed.
• Assist with orientation and ongoing training in security procedures.

• NYS certification as a Security Guard required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college-level coursework in criminal justice is a plus but not required.
• Minimum of two years of security experience is highly desirable.
• BLS/CPR certification and first aid training required.
• Ability to participate in orientation and continuing education and maintain knowledge and skills related to areas of expertise.

• Ability to diffuse and handle violent physical situations calmly.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Clinical and outdoor setting. Exposure Class I.

Medium work: standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.

All services, medical staff, patients, visitors, contractors, vendors, various regulatory agencies.
