• Enforces federal laws, military regulations, and installation security policies while conducting entry control, armed perimeter patrols, and physical security checks.
• Responds to emergency situations, traffic violations, criminal complaints, and alarms to neutralize threats, secure crime scenes, and protect personnel and mission-critical assets.
• Performs initial investigations, detains violators, operates emergency vehicles, and prepares official incident reports in coordination with Department of the Air Force civilian and military defense forces.
• Perform and enforce the full range of police officer duties within a military facility.
• Direct and supervise the dispatch operation activities involving security force patrols to scenes of crimes, accidents, natural disasters, and apprehensions.

• Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov.
• Applicants must be able to meet the OPM Qualification Standards of the position being filled.
• Must pass an initial pre‑employment medical examination, periodic medical examinations, required initial and annual physical fitness/physical agility tests to include running, meet established hearing standards.
• Required to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance associated with the position
• This position has been identified as a designated position under the Air Force Drug Testing Plan. Applicants of this position is/are subject to the possibility of a random drug test.
• Incumbent must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate all security forces vehicles and installed equipment.
• Must pass formal law enforcement training school as determined by AF/A4S and obtain DoD Peace Officer Standardization and Training Certification.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

• One year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level (maintaining order, enforcing laws, protecting life/property)
