Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electronics Security Technician to join their team in Syracuse, NY. This full-time role involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of alarm systems, access control systems, and video surveillance systems for commercial properties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, with hands‑on experience in managing complex security systems and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
As an Electronics Security Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of various security technologies while collaborating with other professionals to achieve project goals.
- System Installation: Install, configure, and program alarm systems, access control systems, and video surveillance systems in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with existing security systems, including both hardware and software components, to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on security systems to uphold their reliability and efficiency.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and team members to coordinate installation projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Client Support: Provide comprehensive training and support to clients on the operation and maintenance of installed security systems.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training in electronics, security systems, or related fields is preferred.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in installing and servicing various security systems, including alarms, access control, and video surveillance systems.
- Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in using hand and power tools for installation and troubleshooting, with a strong understanding of security system components. - Problem‑Solving: Excellent problem‑solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- License: Valid NY driver's license with a clean driving record.
NICET Level 1 fire alarm certification a plus.
- Lifting:
Ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects, typically up to 50 lbs. - Work Environment:
Comfortable working in various settings, including confined or elevated spaces.
