Christopher Community, Inc. (CCINC) seeks a Maintenance Technician to join its growing organization! The physical work location for this position will be to support the Family Neighborhood Residence Portfolio (FNR) in Syracuse, NY.

CCINC is a not-for-profit Housing Development and Property Management company that assists low- and moderate-income families and seniors to secure suitable housing across Upstate New York. Christopher Community currently manages over 3,300 units of housing in more than 100 buildings, and administers the Rental Assistance Program in Onondaga County, which provides assistance to over 1,200 households. $22 to $25 per hour depending on experience & qualifications

• Mows lawns, trims weeds, and rakes leaves as assigned.
• Picks up and removes trash prior to mowing a designated area.
• Trims bushes, shrubs, and hedges.
• Completes snow removal tasks such as shoveling sidewalks, steps, and doorways as needed during winter months.
• Operates snowblower or snowplow to clear roads, driveways, and parking lots.
• Performs routine maintenance on power equipment.
• Carries out work order assignments relative to apartment/facility/building repairs including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general building construction.
• Performs required preventive maintenance duties for building mechanical systems.
• Responds to emergency repair needs and lockouts, in twenty-four (24) hour monthly on-call rotation.
• Maintains mechanical/plumbing and minor electrical equipment. Performs repairs when necessary.
• Ability to work across multiple locations, variable system types in occupied rental units.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MUST be available for on-call coverage every other weekend for property emergencies. Must stay within a 30-minute driving range when on call.

• Employee must have a valid NYS driver's license at all times and is required to have a registered and insured vehicle
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; two-five years related work experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Technical/trade backgrounds including HVAC, Plumbing and/or Electrical are highly desirable but experience in all trades is not required.
• Excellent time management and communication skills are necessary.
• Technical/trade certificates and training are desirable but not required.
• Experience with a dump trailer and/or large utility trailer a plus.
