The plant Electrician will be a key member of the Company's Operations and Maintenance team, responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and repair of the plant's industrial electrical equipment. Reporting directly to the Electrical and Controls Manager. The group operates under a flat structure, and the successful candidate will have regular visibility and direct access to the Director of Operations.
The successful candidate will be a critical member of the team, ensuring the successful execution of providing our customers with steam and chilled water on a 24/7/365 basis. Electricians work 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday. The successful candidate will also be expected to work well as part of a team.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, strong commitment to deadlines and team, is process oriented with a high sense of ownership in their work, possesses a high degree of intellectual curiosity, and has a superior knowledge of steam and chilled water systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
- Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance
- Maintain, repair, install and test switch gear, VFD's, motor starters, disconnects, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, and protective relays.
- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, and UPS systems
- Utilize a preventive maintenance program to complete tasks and keep maintenance records
- Effectively communicate and work collaboratively at all levels of the organization in diverse work group settings and in concert with external resources.
- Effectively use a variety of media (i.e., MS office suite, ) to convey technical data, concepts, and ideas.
- Read complex schematics, wiring diagrams and shop drawings for the purpose of installation, troubleshooting, and repairing of major systems and minor subsystems and components
