Job DescriptionExercise judgment to plan and perform all work in the layout, installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical equipment of low, and medium voltage.
Education and ExperienceAn advanced knowledge of the electrical trade equivalent to complete accredited apprentice training.
At least three years additional practical experience.
A valid driver's license; must have the ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
Must provide own hand tools including pliers, screwdrivers, wire cutters, allen wrenches, channel locks, rule, etc.
Skills and KnowledgeKnowledgeable of the National Electrical Codes. An advanced knowledge of the electrical trade equivalent to completed accredited apprentice training is required.
At least three years additional practical experience is required.
A valid NY State Drivers license and completed SU Drivers safety training are both required.
ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, diagnose problems and repair or replace component parts. Repair or replace transformers, switch gear, power centers and associated control equipment, starters, motors, and power and lighting distribution systems, instruments and meters. Run conduit and wiring for various installations. Work from blueprints, schematic diagrams, determine material for jobs and order from distributor etc.
