The Residential Service Technician’s primary functions and responsibilities are troubleshooting, configuring, reconstructing, and programming existing security and site automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide services for fire and carbon monoxide detection, networking, hosted video solutions, and access control.
  • Follow and complete required processes of wired/wireless technology and connection procedures.
  • Test and validate system signals and communication with central monitoring to properly establish service.
  • Demonstrate customer‑service champion attitude, helping customers fix issues and understand the protection in their home.

Position Summary

The Residential Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert who alleviates customer concerns about security systems. The technician advises customers and the customer care center on the status of systems and processes inspections.

  • Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
  • Readjust, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
  • Read blueprints, building and electrical plans to complete equipment repairs.
  • Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.
  • Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
Education / Certification
  • High school diploma or GED.
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience installing and inspecting/repairing ADT or comparable product lines.
Skills
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read building electrical and sprinkler plans as required for troubleshooting equipment.
  • Physical ability to stand, stoop, lift, climb, and crawl.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
Pay and Benefits Disclosure

The pay range for this role is $17.75 - $32.97 an hour and is based on experience and qualifications. Employees have access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, and paid time off. Employees accrue up to 120 hours in their first year, with increased accrual after the first year.

Six paid holidays are offered.
