Overview
Gerber Collision & Glass is a leading collision repair provider with over 80 years of experience. The Auto Body Technician plays a pivotal role in delivering speed, quality, and customer excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure consistent execution of the WOW operating plan.
- Plan repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles to pre‑accident condition.
- Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
- Address minor body damage by hammering out dents or applying filler resins when necessary.
- Realign car chassis and frames for structural repairs.
- Remove damaged sections and install new or aftermarket parts.
- Replace or repair glass, windshields, and interior components as needed.
- Weld or attach parts to restore vehicle structure.
- Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory‑specified paint or approved alternatives.
- Complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
- Inspect finished vehicles to ensure work accuracy.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a technical school program or a 3‑year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to collaborate with other repairers in a shop environment.
- Thorough understanding of vehicle body repair methods and procedures.
- Proficiency in using tools necessary for the trade.
- Work safely in a noisy area with odors.
- Lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
- Visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
- Meet the physical demands necessary for the essential functions of the job.

CompensationFlat rate:
Estimated $65,000 – $125,000+ per year, commensurate with skill, education, and experience. Sign‑on bonus opportunities may be available for qualified candidates.
