Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician supports multiple package-handling facilities across Upstate New York. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of conveyor, mechanical, and industrial electrical systems. You'll work independently across assigned sites and serve as the primary maintenance contact at each location.
What You'll Do- Perform preventative maintenance on:
- Conveyor and material-handling systems
- Electrical & mechanical equipment
- Motor controls and PLC-controlled systems
- Inspect, service, and repair conveyors (belts, bearings, motors, seals)
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using blueprints & schematics
- Diagnose and repair:
- 480V / 3-phase power systems
- AC & DC motors
- Motor controls and VFDs
- Serve as the primary responder for equipment breakdowns
- Troubleshoot PLCs and ladder logic (no programming required)
- Complete light facility tasks (lighting, minor repairs)
- Use industrial tools safely and follow all site safety procedures
- Travel regularly between Syracuse & Binghamton (and within ~2 hours)
- Document maintenance work and findings clearly
- Perform fabrication or welding repairs when needed
- Collaborate with site teams and remote support staff
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- Hands-on experience with conveyor systems
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read electrical schematics & blueprints
- Experience with:
- 480V / 3-phase power
- Motor controls
- PLC-controlled equipment
- Strong preventative maintenance experience
- Comfortable working independently at customer sites
- Willing and able to travel locally
- Fabrication or welding experience
- VFD experience
- Deeper PLC/ladder logic knowledge
- Material handling or crane maintenance experience
- Strong communication and organization skills

- Typical schedule:
4×10s (Mon–Thu) when possible - Fridays as needed for PMs or repairs
- Preventative work planned during core hours
- Repair work completed as equipment conditions require
- Industrial attire required (safety-appropriate clothing & footwear)
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Syracuse, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
