Overview
Reports to: Program Supervisor, Supervised Visitation
Location: 1603 Court Street, East Syracuse, NY 13057
Pay Rate: $25-$27 Hourly
Schedule: Tuesday/Friday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Our focus is supporting individuals by ways of residential housing, mental health and clinical services, and immersing our participants in community engagement. Working closely with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Mental Health, we support 27 housing locations and 3 administrative buildings.
The Role
We are looking for a proactive employee to provide structured, safe, and supportive environments for children and families participating in court-ordered or voluntary supervised visits or exchanges.
Responsibilities- Supervise visits in various settings, ensuring child safety and adherence to visitation plans
- Build trust with children and families; engage them in supervised visits and coaching
- Provide coaching, skill-building, and constructive feedback to parents during visits
- Intervene promptly to address inappropriate behavior; terminate visits when necessary
- Conduct debriefing sessions with children (age-appropriate) after visits
- Monitor and maintain boundaries during visits; assess parental compliance and readiness for community-based visits
- Collaborate with families, supervisors, and Onondaga County representatives to meet program goals
- Schedule and coordinate visits per court orders; ensure resources and transportation are available
- Review and update visitation plans as needed; consult with appropriate parties
- Assist with program in-services and participate in agency/community meetings as assigned
- Document detailed observations of parent-child interactions in Agency systems
- Provide in-court testimony when subpoenaed
- Conduct and analyze family satisfaction surveys; report concerns promptly
- Identify family needs and provide referrals to community resources
- Perform Other Duties as Assigned
Associate degree in Human Services or related field, with 3+ years of relevant experience working with youth and family in the child welfare system, required. Bachelor’s degree in human services, or a related field, preferred. Must have the ability to work with diverse populations, including families experiencing domestic violence, poverty, or other challenges. Must have a good understanding of child development, trauma, and risk factors in visitation.
Must be able and willing to interrupt patterns of grooming and coercion.
Must have a valid NYS Driver License in accordance with the Agency Vehicle and Driving policy and reliable transportation necessary to meet program needs. Must respect confidentiality.
