PositionSummary
This position supports the mission and work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization. Under the direction of the Director, the Residence Service Coordinator will organize the day-to-day operations of their assigned program areas. The Residence Service Coordinator assures the well-being for each participant in line with YMCA of the USA guidelines and association policies in accordance with their training.
EssentialFunctions
- Models the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization; supporting members connect with each other and the YMCA.
- Maintains physical presence, always remains alert while on duty.
- Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures; completes related reports as required.
- Supports the residence and senior housing department by providing administrative assistance with case management services to residents.
- Provides leadership to staff, ensures adequate coverage for all activities.
- Assists with the comprehensive intake, evaluation and assessments of the residents. Welcomes new residents and explain the residents and seniors programs, its services and resources.
- Assists in providing supportive linkages between residents and referral agencies, brokerage, networking, advocacy and local resources and support services.
- Assists the Residence Director with maintaining and generating statistical data to ensure complete case records are maintained and monthly, quarterly and annual reports are generated to ensure program quality and accountability.
- Assists the Residence Director to collect rent from the senior residents from the 1st through the 10th of each month and make bank deposits.
- Works with the Residence Director to determine the effectiveness of Y programs and if the Y is an appropriate housing choice for the resident.
- Develops supportive professional relationships with residents that help them enhance the quality of their lives, empower them and encourage them in taking the steps to achieve self-sufficiency.
- Monitors resident service program targets. Consistently tracks and measures program target progress. Regularly reports resident’s progress and discuss the progression or regression of each individual with Director and individual.
- Acts as a team member and maintains open communications with staff regarding residents’ needs and goals.
- Able to identify and resolve resident issues tactfully, exercising good judgment, and conflict resolution.
- Communicates with management on behalf of the Director.
- Acts as a proxy for the Director as needed in their absence.
- Collaborates with the Director to sustain, promote, and grow departmental programs and services.
- Manages program expenses.
- Maintains policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws.
- Knows, follows, and enforces all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, procedures, and staff expectations, including those for the prevention of child abuse.
