The Elderly Services Neighborhood Advisor plays a vital role in the community by establishing and maintaining connections with community members and service organizations, ensuring cultural competency. They act as a conduit to various agencies providing entitlements benefits and social services, helping older individuals remain in their homes and engage in family and community life. The advisor assists clients with accessing entitlement programs, ensuring proper document completion and follow-up.

They maintain records in compliance with relevant departments' confidentiality and compliance standards. Additionally, they develop and update a comprehensive resource directory of key community contacts for referrals, conduct outreach through door-to-door visits and community presentations, and coordinate transportation services for elderly clients when necessary.

This Position is Part Time at 17.5 Hours a week. Pay For This Position is $19.00 Per Hour

Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:

• Associate's degree in a Human Services field preferred.
• High School Diploma/G.E.D. with three years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Experience working with the elderly and/or senior citizens required.

Licenses/Certificates/Clearances:

• Valid N.Y.S. Driver's License.
• N.Y.S. Registered and insured vehicle.

Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:

• Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings at client's homes and/or community facilities.
• The working environment may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.
