Direct Support Professional DJ-MS

Location: City of Syracuse

1:1 Part-Time Support Staff Needed – Inner city of Syracuse (DJ– MS)19 male, inner city of Syracuse is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist Teach skills for independent living and Teach positive communication skills.

He likes to spend time enjoying video games, scary movies, watching You Tube, visiting the mall to eat and look into anime stores.

The ideal candidate is required to have patience, as this person has a hard time with controlling outburst  ideal candidate should also be good at facilitating conversations when needed and willing to work out and able to him them with the direction of services from time to time.

This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency.

Start time and hours are flexible, up to 20 hours a week.

Starting pay: CH1 $ 19.25/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.

Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old.

Ability to work independently in the person’s home and/or community.

Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills

No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.

New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.

Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.

Must have a valid drivers license

Effective communication and organizational skills required.

Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.

Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.

Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.

Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
