We are seeking a talented
** Job Development Specialist
** to join our team of nearly 500 employees. CCSI is partnering with Onondaga County Department of Social Services – Economic Security, (DSS-ES) and the Onondaga County Reentry Task Force, (OCRTF) which is funded through the Division of Criminal Justice Services, (DCJS). The Onondaga County Reentry Task Force (OCRTF) assists with the transition of med-high risk Parolees returning to Onondaga County under supervision with the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) providing education, employment readiness, housing, and evidence-based programing.
The OCRTF evaluates, implements and maintains working collaborations with community service providers and stakeholders through education, bi-monthly meetings and contractual agreements.
The Job Development Specialist will establish and maintain relationships with employers for the purpose of gainful employment for those we serve. This will include creating an extensive Job Bank. This Job Bank will hold all data as it relates to an active workforce and those employed within it. This collaboration will be a system in which to track employees and vet employment that will serve those who are returning or who have been justice involved through state this role, you will
* Cultivate and establish relationships with potential employers to bridge employment gaps.
* Create, implement, and maintain a robust Job Bank.
* Maintain accurate data to identify and support employee relationships, participant employment, and employment interruptions.
* Engage Reentry participants in job preparedness.
* Work collaboratively with Parole Officers as it relates to employment and progress.
* Participates in Group Facilitation.
* Assists in managing Referrals and Service Coordination Plans.
* Maintains accurate data to identify needs, strengths and gaps in services
* Attends meetings as assigned.
* Prescriptively use personal experience as an engagement tool.
* Assists with Outreach and Educational Events assigned.
* Facilitates and/or participates in weekly Ready Set Work groups.
Note:
Job Development Specialist will be trained as an “OWDS” Facilitator as soon as the training becomes available after hire.
* Attend bi-monthly Case Conferences to enhance case management by providing follow-up on reentry participants.
* Other duties as assigned.
What you bring
* Associate’s degree in criminal justice and five years’ experience working with the criminal justice population OR Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology or related field and three years’ experience working with the criminal justice population.
* Strong verbal, written communication skills and organizational skills.
* Demonstrate knowledge of community based service organizations.
* Demonstrate ability to coordinate service delivery in a multidisciplinary environment which provides services to ex-offenders.
* Demonstrate ability to work as a member of a case management team.
* Demonstrate proficiency with computer applications specifically knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications such as Word and Excel.
* Demonstrate ability to work in a fast paced work environment.
* Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks necessary to accomplish goals.
* Lived experience navigating justice systems is valued.
