Position Overview
CDL A Truck Driver
Pay: $26.00 - $36.50 per hour. $4,000 signing bonus through June 2026.
Responsibilities- Drive assigned vehicles and configurations as trained.
- Maintain truck logs or time recordings as required by state, federal, and company policies.
- Assist with proper and legal loading of materials for transport.
- Weigh in and out of scales for load ticketing and legal weight compliance.
- Operate the truck safely to and from project destinations.
- Maintain contact with dispatch center for instructions.
- Properly tarp load for transit.
- Chock wheels when leaving the truck as per company guidelines.
- Regularly maintain cargo area; keep interior and exterior clean.
- Inspect load for loose debris before transport.
- Perform post-trip vehicle inspections for vehicles driven, equipment moved, and trailers towed, noting any defects or deficiencies in writing; turn in inspections to designated locations or personnel.
- Demonstrate professionalism and willingness to take direction and constructive criticism.
- Prioritize safety of every individual on the job site.
- Express genuine interest in coworkers and customers' thoughts and needs.
- Adjust routing according to posted weight restrictions and permitted uses.
- Show knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in construction work.
- General knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Create and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
- Maintain attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Handle problems involving deviations from standardized or planned procedures.
- Perform job requirements in adverse field conditions and all weather conditions.
- Any combination of education and work experience that demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform the work as described.
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A, CDL A Restricted, or CDL
B). - USDOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience transporting heavy construction equipment and/or materials for paving and/or site excavation.
Employees may be sent to other facility locations and operations to perform duties as required.
