Job Title: Yard Specialist - Nights

Location: Syracuse, NY

Schedule: Wednesday through Saturday: 3:00 PM - 2:00 AM

Job Summary: The Yard Specialist is a Certified Motor Vehicle Operator who operates primarily out of the truck yard at the G&C Foods facility. The Yard Specialist is responsible for the fleet of trucks and trailers, including placement, inspection, and general maintenance of the equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs daily yard equipment inventory at the start of each shift
• Pulls all returns and pallet jacks off trailers left in the yard and plugs them in
• Bring backhaul paperwork from the Guard shack to Transportation
• Fuels Trailers
• Move trailers to designated docks for loading and unloading
• Properly pre-trip Yard Tractors and Trailers to make sure they are DOT compliant
• Report Service issues to dispatch and Service
• Empty trash by the fuel pumps and by vacuum in the garage as needed
• Assist Drivers as needed
• Take equipment for repairs as needed
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Collaborate with snow removal company to ensure safe operations of the yard during snowstorms/winter months
• Check the yard for debris/trash that could cause damage to equipment
• Performs wash moves as specified by the Yard Management System
• Performs other functions as needed or directed by Management
• Additional duties as assigned

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• CDL-A preferred

• NYS Driver's License
