Salary Range: $25.00 To $25.00 Hourly

Shuttle Drivers needed to drive for Upstate Medical University Shuttle Service in Syracuse, NY. These are local, steady routes transporting hospital employees to and from their parking areas.

We're currently looking for FT or PT staff who can work split-shift hours.

We are seeking staff for 6am-9am and 2pm-6pm roles. We will consider staff seeking just mornings, just afternoons, or both. We will take employees seeking all 5 weekdays or a lighter schedule as well.

We will also consider semi-retirees other PT staff with flexibility on scheduling. (This will not work for someone currently employed as a FT school bus driver)

Shuttle drivers earn $25/hour to start. Weekly pay!

The vehicles are newer walk-on 24-passenger shuttles that are cleaned and maintained regularly.

Full-time help is eligible for Health/Dental insurance available after 90 days (50/50 split), and paid vacation after one year. Room for advancement!

Must be over 20, customer service experience is a must! A valid NY Class B or higher CDL with passenger endorsement is required.

A valid medical card is also required. Background checks and driving test will be conducted.

- Job Description

The job responsibilities of a Shuttle Driver may vary depending on the location where the employee is scheduled to work. The responsibilities include but are not limited tothe following:

  • Greeting patrons in a polite manner and assisting them in any way we can
  • Safely shuttling customers to various destinations
  • Opening and closing doors for patrons
  • Adhering to all traffic laws/signs to ensure the safest possible operation of our shuttles
  • Communicating effectively with customers and co-workers. This includes radio contact with management, shuttle drivers and lot attendants
  • Completing required pre-trip inspections to meet federal as well as company safety requirements
  • Recording passenger counts and trip times
  • Completing necessary paperwork involved in daily operations
  • Assisting in equipment set up and break down (i.e. signs, cones etc.)
  • Sweeping shuttles and removing debris to ensure cleanliness
  • Communicating mechanical problems with shuttles to management
  • Complying with company procedures for shuttle operations
