Salary Range: $20.00 To $20.00 Hourly

River Valley Holdings is a family‑owned distribution company based in Syracuse, NY, serving retail customers across the northeastern United States. The River Valley family of companies:
River Valley Foods, Cavallaro Foods and Garden Spot Foods, distributes a wide range of specialty dry and frozen grocery items and consumable products out of warehouses in Syracuse, NY and New Holland, PA.

The Receiver is responsible for accurately and efficiently receiving inbound freight and ensuring that its quality meets our customer’s expectations. The Receiver reports to the First Shift Supervisor.

• Arrive on time for the start of the scheduled shift
• Perform a pre‑operation inspection of any equipment being used in the receiving process
• Accurately receive items and palletize them for put away
• Adhere to HACCP requirements of refrigerated loads
• Follow company and SQF guidelines when handling products, including the handling of damaged cases found during receiving
• Ensure pallets are properly wrapped to ensure stability through the warehouse
• Operate equipment in a safe manner at all times
• Verify, UPD, Description, and Pack Size of item being received
• Additional duties (selecting, cleaning, replenishing bays, or others) as requested by supervisor

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to read, speak and understand English in order to understand supervisor instructions
• Organized, self‑motivated and have good communication skills
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Able to pass a pre‑employment drug screening test
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to use the RF gun

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior receiving experience (Preferred, not required)

• Able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods of time
• Able to lift 75 pounds consistently throughout shift

• Monday
  - Friday 5am-1:45pm

• $20.00 per hour
