Live Strong House (LSH) is an owner-operated Residential and Transitional Treatment Facility serving male adolescents (ages 15–18) and young adults (ages 18–26) who are recovering from emotional, mental health, and/or substance use disorders.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team and support students in a small, structured classroom environment.
Position OverviewSpecial Education Teachers at Live Strong House work with students in a supportive classroom setting of no more than 8 students. Teachers provide individualized instruction, implement IEP and 504 accommodations, and collaborate closely with our Academic/Special Education Director to ensure compliance and academic progress.
LSH operates an inclusion model, with special education students participating in general education classroom settings whenever appropriate.
Our weekly schedule includes:
- Curriculum support
- Team collaboration time
- A full prep day each week
Key Responsibilities
- Assess each student’s individual academic and behavioral needs
- Implement IEP and 504 accommodations and modifications
- Ensure classroom instruction remains compliant with specialized instruction as determined by students’ IEP
- Attend IEP meetings with out-of-district or out-of-state case management teams
- Provide academic instruction across curriculum areas
- Deliver small-group and one-on-one support
- Develop educational strategies and interventions to promote student success
- Manage classroom structure and student engagement
- Support students’ social-emotional and behavioral needs in alignment with the Live Strong House model and IEP guidelines
Teachers at LSH are highly involved in building strong relationships and supporting individualized treatment and transition planning.
Staff are expected to model healthy emotional expression, strong social skills, grit, patience, and resilience.
Teachers collaborate closely with clinical and residential teams to help students achieve both academic and personal growth.
Qualifications Requirements- Current teaching degree in Special Education (K–12) or Special Education endorsement
- Minimum of 1 year of special education classroom experience
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening

- Ability to maintain strong professional and personal boundaries
- Ability to see people for who they are, their potential, and not for past actions
- Strong organizational skills to manage individualized academic plans
- Ability to support both special education and general education students
- Professional classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer operations
- Ability to manage curriculum pacing and grade-level completion timelines

Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $45,000-$50,000, dependent on experience
