Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Tacoma, Washington. This is a contract position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to a well-established manufacturing company. The role is ideal for candidates who excel in accounting functions and are comfortable working onsite in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes efficiently and accurately.

- Prepare and record journal entries to ensure proper accounting of company transactions.

- Oversee general ledger activities and ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with regulations.

- Collaborate with external accounting partners to support financial operations and reporting.

- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.

- Perform corporate tax-related tasks, including sales tax and corporate tax return preparation.

- Process payroll activities in coordination with HR, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

- Utilize Quick Books and proprietary software to manage accounting tasks effectively.

- Handle half-paper and half-digital financial processes with precision.

- Contribute to maintaining the company's strong financial position through effective accounting practices

Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable management.

- Proficiency in Quick Books Online and familiarity with proprietary accounting software.

- Strong knowledge of corporate tax processes, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.

- Demonstrated ability to prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.

- Experience in month-end and year-end financial close processes.

- Solid understanding of payroll processing and collaboration with HR.

- Ability to work onsite in Tacoma, Washington, with a flexible schedule.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to handle both paper and digital processes.
