Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support key accounting operations for a Contract position based in Tacoma, Washington. This role will play an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, managing close activities, and ensuring the integrity of balance sheet accounts. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing financial data, and helping ensure timely completion of reporting deadlines.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording, analyzing, and validating financial transactions across assigned accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and a high degree of accuracy.
• Perform account reconciliations on a recurring basis to identify discrepancies, resolve variances, and support clean financial reporting.
• Complete bank reconciliations by comparing cash activity to internal records and investigating unmatched items.
• Review account activity and balances to help improve accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accounting standards.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather needed financial information and support routine accounting deliverables.
