Full job description
Tacoma Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Business Office Manager to support the Business Office Manager in overseeing the daily operations for a successful and smooth collection process for our business office. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient billing and accounting are carried out in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Reports to Business Office Manager (BOM)
Education, Experience, and Licensure/Certification s
High school graduate or equivalent. Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred
One (1) year in post-acute care or other geriatric-related field preferred
PCC (Point Click Care) experience preferred but not required
Specific Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and E-mail
Ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the business office
Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Knowledgeable of administration practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing administration functions in the post-acute care facility
Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the administration department
Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to general business office responsibilities, cash receipts and billing, patient rights, and safety and sanitation
Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to our organization's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
Essential Functions
Assist with effective management and oversight of bookkeeping functions including posting payments and charges to patient ledgers, balance daily receipts, collecting delinquent accounts.
Maintain Resident Trust Checking Accounts.
Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
Assist in the evacuation of patients
Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
Communicate and function productively in an interdisciplinary team
Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Reviews payment policies and procedures with new admissions and their responsible parties
Establish and maintain financial files for all residents related to admission, billing, and collection of accounts receivable in accordance with regulatory
Document business office collections on an ongoing basis
Administer the resident trust account and petty cash - Reconcile petty cash monthly
Bank Deposits and daily mail
Assist with answering the phone
All other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
