This position establishes and maintains student attendance records, resolves attendance matters with students, parents and outside agencies; and handles a variety of other student attendance duties. The position also performs various duties to facilitate the operation of the school office.
Essential Job FunctionsJob Duties
Experiences frequent interruptions from phone calls or visitors to the office; may be required to deal with difficult and sensitive situations and/or people; may be required to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, climb, and/or be mobile.
Education and ExperienceHigh school graduation or equivalent and one year of clerical experience or office skills training, including record keeping; or any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work.
Licenses/Special RequirementsFingerprints and successful WSP and FBI background clearance/sexual misconduct clearance.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of general office procedures.
- Skill in keyboarding; computer data entry skills.
- Ability to operate a personal computer with word processing software applications.
- Ability to obtain, clarify and exchange information.
- Ability to demonstrate reasonable, reliable, and regular attendance.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people in a multi-cultural, diverse socioeconomic setting.
