Responsibilities

  • Participate in drafting documents, integrating text, tables, and charts from multiple sources and software applications; draft and edit routine correspondence on administrative matters.
  • Proofread and edit documents on behalf of supervisor or office/division staff; ensure correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting in accordance with Fund style.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for mission teams before and after the mission in coordination with field offices when necessary.
  • Organize, file, and retrieve documents from physical and electronic repositories; maintain, track, and extract data from administrative, economic, and financial databases; initiate standard reports to inform administrative decisions.
  • Review incoming and outgoing documents such as board documents, briefing papers, and back‑to‑office reports; distribute and edit board documents for the review process.
  • Monitor and respond to e‑mail and field requests for information/comment; track and enforce associated deadlines; prioritize, route, and schedule work to ensure an efficient resolution or response; anticipate and resolve competing priorities or escalations.
  • Assist with first‑line technical support to colleagues on Fund systems, office productivity software, and office automation technologies; guide and follow up with technical support vendors; assist with expert and vendor administration, onboarding, off‑boarding, provisioning, and financial/budgetary tracking and reporting.
  • Organize meetings, seminars, workshops, and conferences; plan material production, scheduling, logistical arrangements, and liaise with participants and speakers; coordinate and publish internet or IMF intranet postings for the work unit; request interpretation services when needed.
  • Disseminate Fund administrative policies within the work unit for staff at all levels; create and maintain spreadsheets to track administrative data or processes; ensure compliance with policies and liaise with relevant departments to resolve issues.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant experience.
  • Current residence in the Washington DC metro area.
  • Successful completion of the IMF Staff Assistant online exam within the past 12 months.
