Public Health Assistant

Jefferson County Public Health is seeking a Public Health Assistant. This position provides administrative support for the Public Health Director, Deputy Director, Environmental Public Health and Water Quality Director, and other staff as assigned. Assists in preparation of contracts and agreements including monitoring, tracking, and receipt, and final dissemination and filing. Provides assistance with the maintenance of personnel files, announcing vacancies, and scheduling interviews.

Oversees public record management, adhering to the Washington State Public Records Act and serves as Clerk to the Jefferson County Board of Health.

Individual needs to be able to perform this job successfully in each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are listed on the job description and are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

High school diploma or general education degree; and six (6) years of related experience and/or training in general business curriculum, including or supplemented by clerical and secretarial training in basic office skills and two (2) years as an Administrative Assistant in Jefferson County or another municipal government; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a full time, 40 hours per week, Grade 25 UFCW position. Starting hourly rate typically $26.47/hour, DOE. Full pay range $26.47 - $32.55. Full medical benefits, including dental and vision. Retirement provided through Washington State DRS. Paid Time Off (PTO), 11 paid holidays and bereavement leave.
