Job Title
This position coordinates the operation of the school office; serves as secretary to the Principal; performs a variety of clerical and bookkeeping office duties; provides lead direction to building secretarial and clerical staff; provides support and quality customer service to students, parents, staff, and the public.

Essential job functions include managing the school's main office, answering telephone and in-person inquiries, coordinating services and information with sending/receiving schools and District offices, maintaining records and files for staff, student and building records, ensuring adequate daily substitute personnel, scheduling and processing paperwork for building use, receiving and recording student and school money, assisting staff in coordinating field trips, requisitioning, accounting for, receiving and distributing school supplies, coordinating school pictures, and providing lead direction to building secretarial and clerical staff.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and experience:
High school education or equivalent and three years of office experience; experience in dealing with children and the public, preferably in an educational setting; or any combination of experience and training which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the work.
Licenses/Special Requirements:
May be required to obtain first aid certificate or CPR training. Required to have annual training for dispersion of student medications. Fingerprints and successful WSP and FBI background clearance/sexual misconduct clearance.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of general secretarial procedures and practices, correct grammar, spelling, punctuation and English usage to prepare professional correspondence, computers and related software in word processing, spreadsheets, data bases and other applicable software applications, obtaining, clarifying and exchanging information, data entry, word-processing and spreadsheet software applications, providing quality customer service, effective problem solving and decision making, operating a variety of office machines, operating a personal computer with applicable software applications, exercising good judgment and maintaining confidentiality, communicating effectively with a variety of people, accurately performing arithmetical calculations, organizing, setting priorities, coordinating activities, meeting deadlines and excellent follow through, concentrating on detail and being precise, working under pressure, maintaining comprehensive record keeping systems, multi-tasking, demonstrating reasonable, reliable, and regular attendance, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of people in a diverse, multi-cultural, socioeconomic setting, and participating as a team member.
