Hire Military DoD Skill Bridge / Career Skills Program (CSP) Internship
The Hire Military DoD Skill Bridge / Career Skills Program (CSP) Internship is an approved Skill Bridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29 as enacted by 10 U.S.C. Sec 1143. Eligibility is restricted to members of the U.S. Armed Forces separating honorably with greater than 180 days of continuous Active Duty. Skill Bridge/CSP period of eligibility is within the final 180 days of Active Duty service, and the Skill Bridge/CSP must be completed prior to separation from Active Duty in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Hire Military DoD Skill Bridge/CSP is open to members of all services, and all ranks and experience levels. Service members should fully review Skill Bridge/CSP Position Description for individual opportunity requirements and qualifications.
Skill Bridge participants participate in full time training with industry (40 hour work week) under military orders and are not eligible for compensation from Hire Military or its partner host employers but will continue to receive all military wages and benefits for the period of the DoD Skill Bridge/CSP enrollment.

Responsible for managing daily preventive and corrective Quality Control activities with a focus on Federal / DOD construction projects. Must be able to conduct Quality Control Meetings, perform inspections, review submittals, and ensure testing is performed in accordance with industry standards, contract specifications and applicable codes. Prepare all Quality Control certifications and documentation required.
Essential DutiesImplement the Construction Quality Control Program at assigned job sites. Perform preparatory and initial phase meetings/inspections. Prepare and submit Quality Control Daily Reports. Track and provide project submittals to the Government. Maintain the submittal register. Maintain/build collaborative working relationships with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, vendors and internal Gideon Team members to ensure the project specific plan delivers a fully compliant project.
Must have a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the contract documents. Must implement QC procedures, including document control, submission management, creation and tracking of Requests For Information (RFIs), material samples and maintain job-site red lines. Maintain the QC Testing Log and deficiency log. Oversight and management of project close-out.
Completion of the "Construction Quality management" (CQM) for Contractors course. Knowledge of construction (i.e., prints, plans procedures, scheduling and testing) Preferred Must have strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to manage projects of 2 to 10 million in size. Must be able to travel. Must be able to obtain access to a Federal Installation
Preferred SkillsProficient in Resident Management System (RMS). Applicants living in a Hub Zone area a plus.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use of hands, reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk including stairs or other elevated structures.
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where employees are exposed to moving mechanical parts; high places; fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
