A leading Mid-Atlantic commercial electrical contractor is hiring an Electrical Assistant Project Manager to support project managers on active electrical construction projects across the Maryland, Virginia, and DC region — from buyout through closeout. You'll grow into a full Project Manager role on a defined track.
This is a hands‑on electrical construction position. If your background is in general construction, facilities, design, or manufacturing, this isn't the right fit — we're looking specifically for someone who has coordinated or managed electrical scope on commercial construction projects.
What You'll Do- Support Project Managers in running electrical construction projects from award through closeout
- Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, change orders, and procurement for electrical scope — switch gear, feeders, panels, gear, conduit, low voltage, fire alarm, and lighting
- Review electrical drawings and specifications; support electrical take‑offs and material tracking
- Develop and maintain project schedules and work breakdown structures
- Coordinate electrical subcontractors, vendors, and field crews
- Support budgets, cost forecasting, and AIA billing
- Participate in client and project meetings; support QA/QC and jobsite safety, consistent with our Quality, Safety, and Productivity (QSP) standards
- Previous hands‑on experience in electrical construction — coordinating or managing electrical scope, at an electrical contractor or in an electrical‑scope role
- Working knowledge of commercial electrical systems, electrical drawings, submittals, and take‑offs
- Direct experience with RFIs, change orders, and material procurement on construction projects
- Able to work on‑site in active construction environments and travel locally between job sites
- Field or trade electrical background — apprenticeship, journeyman, or foreman experience is a strong plus
- Construction project management software — Procore, MS Project, or Primavera P6
- Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- $85,000–$110,000 base, depending on experience, plus performance bonus
- A clear, defined promotion track to Project Manager
- 401(k) with company match
