Overview

GUEST SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE The Courtyard by Marriott Tacoma Downtown is seeking a Guest Service Representative to join our team. The Guest Service Representative provides outstanding guest service to arriving, departing and in-house guests by delivering accurate and timely information and services and maintaining a professional, friendly and helpful demeanor at all times.

    Must be available weekends and holidays
Rate of Pay
  • $19.78 to $20.83 per hour/DOE

Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding guest service to arriving, departing and in-house guests by delivering accurate and timely information and services and maintaining a professional, friendly and helpful demeanor at all times.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of:
    Principal of providing customer service including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Standard cash handling procedures.
Skills and Ability
  • Actively listen and give full attention to guests, asking questions when necessary to find out how to best meet their needs.
  • Communicate effectively in English in writing and verbally.
  • Handle money, give correct change, balance till and prepare cash drops.
  • Use standard office equipment such as computers and related software, printers, photocopier, fax and multiple line telephone system.
  • Meet attendance requirements with dependability and consistency.
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance to meet hotel standards and represent the hotel positively.
  • Manage time to meet productivity standards.
  • Multi-task and maintain composure and accuracy while handling frequent interruptions.
  • Able to attend First Aid/CPR and additional trainings as provided by employer.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year experience providing customer service directly to the public; hotel experience preferred.
Physical Requirements

Medium Work:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Position requires ability to stand behind front desk for up to 8 hours to assist guests, visual acuity to analyze written information and view computer terminal and ability to express and exchange information by means of the spoken word.

Must be able to grasp, see, crouch, lift, reach, finger, perform repetitive motions.
