Job Title:

305 Gem Artist

Job Summary:

The 305 Gem Artist will be responsible for designing and creating custom jewelry pieces using a variety of precious and semi‑precious gemstones. They will utilize their creative abilities and knowledge of gemstones to craft unique and beautiful jewelry pieces that meet the needs and requirements of clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select and acquire high‑quality gemstones based on client specifications and budget.
  • Design and sketch out new jewelry pieces, including rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets.
  • Create custom jewelry using various techniques, such as hand‑crafting, wire‑wrapping, and stone setting.
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure that their vision is accurately translated into the final product.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage of tools and materials.
  • Stay up‑to‑date on industry trends and new jewelry‑making techniques.
  • Attend trade shows and educational seminars to expand knowledge of the craft.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a gem artist or related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of gemstones, including their characteristics, qualities, and sources.
  • Proficiency in hand‑crafting techniques and ability to use various materials and tools.
  • Excellent design and sketching skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce high‑quality pieces.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor's degree in jewelry design, fine arts, or a related field preferred.
  • Must be based in the 305 area code of Miami, Florida.
Working Conditions

The 305 Gem Artist will work in a studio, which may be located within a larger jewelry store. This is typically a full‑time position, and the artist may be required to work some nights and weekends to accommodate client needs. The work can be physically demanding, requiring the use of small tools and fine motor skills. The artist will be exposed to various chemicals and dust particles, and must take proper safety precautions.
