Sidwell Friends School, a co-educational Quaker day school, seeks a per diem Daily Substitute Teacher for our Middle School division in all subjects for grades 5 – 8. Qualified applicants should possess a relevant college degree, have some experience working with children, and be certified in CPR/First Aid. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in using digital and online platforms for both in person and remote instruction.
Job Responsibilities- Responsible for covering classes when the regular teacher is absent or unavailable
- Delivering lessons and lectures in an organized and effective manner
- Maintaining a safe and clean classroom environment that is conducive to learning
- Relevant college degree and/or experience working with Middle School aged children
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Patience, flexibility, and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of the classroom environment
- Must be available during school hours, which are 8:00am – 4:00pm.
- Due to the nature of the school environment, there may not be substitution possibilities every day.
- Teaching positions at Sidwell Friends School are campus-based, and this position requires teaching in person.
