St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School, in Tacoma, WA is a Preschool-8th grade parochial school in Tacoma, WA. We are seeking a full time kindergarten teacher for the  school year. St. Charles is a triple graded classroom school where the teachers work closely together to collaborate and plan. This position will teach one self-contained kindergarten class. The successful candidate must have a current Washington State Teacher Certificate, demonstrate strong knowledge of early childhood development, and be a practicing Catholic.

The applicant must also demonstrate strengths in the following areas:

• A passion for subject content material and the skills required to guide students in developing conceptual understanding of the language arts and social studies material that is aligned with the Common Core State Standards and Archdiocese of Seattle religion standards.
• Experience with CKLA Amplify and HMH GoMath is preferred.
• Utilize guided reading to meet individual reading goals.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of kindergarten children.
• Experience with differentiated instruction in a mixed ability classroom.
• Clear and consistent communication with parents/families.
• Knowledgeable with current technology - Google experience is a plus.
• Work collaboratively with staff members.
• Engage in ongoing professional development.
• Other duties as assigned.
