This is an Ameri Corps/Washington Reading Corps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. Naches Valley School District is a small rural school district in central Washington. Many students face barriers related to poverty, attendance challenges, and limited access to mentoring and engagement supports. The member will support high school students through mentoring, academic engagement activities, transition support, and postsecondary readiness services.
They will also collaborate with professional staff to provide relationship-based interventions. We expect to begin rolling review of applications and interviews in late July. Monthly stipend amount: $2,380.
The Student Success Coach will support high school students through mentoring and relationship-based interventions. They will support freshmen transitioning to high school; provide coaching on organization, goal setting, and future planning; provide individual social emotional and academic support; promote student wellness and healthy habits; support engagement activities to improve connectedness, attendance, and student success.
