Salary: $68,707 - $135,620 per year (2025-26 SVEA Salary Schedule; 2026-27 TBD). Salary range based on 1.0 FTE.
Position SummaryThe Special Education Teacher will facilitate student success in academics, independence, social situations, and behavior across multiple settings through implementation of evidence‑based curriculum and individualized planning. The teacher will be responsible for case management of all students on their caseload: documenting student progress, data collection and analysis, addressing specific needs of students, providing a safe and optimal learning environment, and facilitating the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) process.
The teacher performs under the general direction of the building principal or program director with assistance from appropriate staff personnel.
- Facilitate student success in academics, independence, social situations, and behavior across multiple settings.
- Implement evidence‑based curriculum and individualized planning.
- Case‑manage all students on the caseload: document progress, collect and analyze data, address specific needs, provide a safe learning environment, and facilitate the IEP process.
- Work under the general direction of the building principal or program director and coordinate with staff personnel.
- Valid Washington State certificate with Special Education endorsement (students may submit a note stating when the certificate is expected).

Certificated employees receive 12 sick days and 2 discretionary personal leave days each school year (days based on scheduled hours and position start date).
* Snoqualmie Valley School District benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority under the School Employees Benefits Board. Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours anticipated for the year (September 1 through August 31). Employees scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a year are eligible for benefits.
